Upon graduation, virtually all college students will confront the problem of the career choice. It is truly a tough choice. Students opinions differ greatly on this issue. Some hold that priority should be given to their interest in jobs, but others take the attitude that salary is the most critical factor influencing their career choices.
As to myself, I prefer the latter view. A well-paid job exerts a tremendous fascination on a great number of people, with no exception to me. Although it might be impossible to measure the value of one’s job in terms of money, salary counts most when I choose my future career. In my view, our career choices largely depend on how and where we have been brought up. come from a poor urban family and my parents were both laid-off workers. In order to finance my tuition, they have been working hard over the past four years. As the only son in my family, I have to shoulder the burden of supporting my family.
In short, salary is the first and only consideration in my choice of career.
Sustainable Development
The idea of sustainable development has been accepted by the world. How to keep sustainable development is a big problem facing our planet.
The present situation is worrying. First, natural resources are becoming less than before. Second,as some people are not aware of the importance of the environmental protection, the problems with it remain extremely serious to some degree. The gap between the rich and the poor has the tendency to become wider and wider.
To our great joy, many countries have taken action. On one hand, they have made relevant laws and regulations and put large amounts of money to the environmental protection. One the other hand, popularized education as well as international cooperation is being carried out.
As for myself,I should take the responsibility to devote myself to sustainable development, our future and the lives of our children and our grandchildren will be in danger.
Most people haven’t formed the habit of and mitted themselves to waste sorting now in China. They would throw their domestic garbage - kitchen refuse, abandoned plastics and papers, broken china and glass, etc. - all into the same public containers, without thinking whether they are recyclable or not.
This, obviously, will reduce the value of stuff that can be recycled or reused, such as plastics and papers. Besides, the growing amount of garbage makes the building of more landfills necessary, which will worsen the shortage of land. Worse still, disposing of the recyclable waste like plastics by burning will give off toxic smoke which seriously pollutes the air. ID this sense, throwing the trash unsorted should not be advocated, no matter from the perspective of economy or protecting the environment.
On the contrary, if we sort out recyclable waste before throwing them away, the amount of trash will be reduced sharply. Accordingly, the cost of running landfills and treating waste will be brought down greatly. Whafs more important, less waste will have to be burned or buried, meaning resources waste and pollution will be reduced. Therefore, economically and environmentally, it is of great significance to call for waste sorting.

Learning aims:
Master the grammar of this unit. Direct Speech & Indirect Speech
Teaching procedures:
Step 1
1. 引用别人的原话,被引用的部分叫直接引语,直接引语放在引号内,不用连词连接;
Mr. Black said, “I am busy.”
Mr. Black said that he was busy. -------( )
(Co-exploration )
可以说sb. said that或 sb. said to sb. that,或sb. told sb. that,不可直接说sb. told that
比如:
He said, “I have been to the Great Wall.”
→ He said to us that he had been to the Great Wall.
→He said that he had been to the Great Wall.
→He told me that he had been to the Great Wall.
He said, “I like it very much .” -------He said that he liked it very much.
He said to me, “I’ve left your book in my room.”------He told me that he had left my book in his room.
She said, “I need a pen.” → She said that she needed a pen.
He said, “I am expecting a call.” → He said that he was expecting a call.
Tom said, “Our team has won the game.” →Tom said that his team had won the game.
Mary said, “I took it home with me.” →Mary said that she had taken it home with her.
He said, “I had finished my work before supper.” → He said that he had finished his work before supper.
Paul said, “I will call again later.” →Paul said that he would call again later.
The geography teacher said, “The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.” →
The geography teacher told us that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
She says, “I’ll never forget the days in the country.” →She says that she’ll never forget the days in the country.
He will say, “The boy was lazy.” → He will tell you that the boy was lazy.
She said, “I was born in 1983.” → She said that she was born in 1983.
1 this → 2 these →
3 now → 4 ago → 5 four years ago →
6 today → 7 tomorrow → 8 yesterday →
9 this week → 10 last week → 11 next month →
12 the day after tomorrow →
13 the day before yesterday →
14 here →
15 come → 16 bring →
即句型:sb. asked (sb.) if/ whether +陈述句
即句型:sb. asked (sb.) what/when/who +陈述句
选择疑问句 变成whether…or句型来表达,而不用if…or…,也不用either…or…
He asked, “Do you speak English or French?” →He asked me whether I spoke English or French.
I asked, “Will you take bus or take train?” → I asked him whether he would take bus or take train.
He said, “Are you interested in English?” →He asked whether I was interested in English.
He asked us, “How many car factories have been built in your country?”
→He asked us how many car factories had been built in our country.
(1) 表示邀请、请求某人做某事时用ask sb. to do sth.
(2) 表示叫、吩咐某人做某事时用tell sb. to do sth
(3) 表示命令某人做某事时用order sb. to do sth .
表示否定时,在不定式前加not,构成句型ask sb. not to do sth., tell sb. not to do sth, order sb. not to do sth
The old man said, “Don’t smoke in the hall.” → The old man told us not to smoke in the hall.
The officer said, “Go away.” → The officer ordered us to go away.
She said to us, “Please have a seat,” → she asked us to have a seat.
2. 祈使句中的please 在间接引语中必须省去,用句型ask sb. to do sth.
如果直接引语是表示“建议”的祈使句或疑问句,通常变为suggested that sb. should do sth或suggested doing sth
例如:He said, “ Let’s go to the park.” → He suggested (our) going to the park.
→ He suggested that we should go to the park.
She said, “What a lovely day it is !” → She said what a lovely day it was!
→ She said that it was a lovely day.
(Improvement)

“Do you feel disadvantaged?” is a question of a survey recently conductedon the Internet by a website.
About the officials in governments consider themselves as thedisadvantaged group, so do of the intellectuals, and 57% of thewhite-collars . In total, of the netizens have a “yes” response.
How can we remove the feeling of the disadvantaged? Views vary from personto person. 49% of the netizens questioned think we should make all peoplerich20% suggest that we should let everyone have a stronger sense of 10% advise making everyone have the right to choose the jobs which theylike, and the obstacles in society must be removed. The rest propose thateveryone should enjoy equal rights. And all people should be equal.
I think we should try our best to remove the negative factors in the dailylife and keep an optimistic psychology to face everything. In my opinion, themost important is the social harmony.
Should Smoking in Public Places be Banned? Nowadays many countries in the world have passed laws to ban smoking in public places. Some smokers claim that their rights are infringed if smoking is forbidden in public places. However, most non-smokers regard the ban as good news. As far as I’m concerned, smoking should be banned in all the public places such as restaurants, theaters and public squares. On the one hand, smoking is harmful both for smokers themselves and others. It is reported that every year smoking causes millions of death around the world. On the other hand, smoking pollutes the air. Just imagine that you sit in a restaurant full of smoke, how can you enjoy your meal there? Besides, smoking is bad for the elevation of a country’s image in the world. I believe if smoking is banned in all the public places, most of us will breathe in more fresh and clean air. And the health condition of all the people will be greatly improved.
“Hey,ah,ah hey...” this is still in the bright lights in toil and hardship as the home ofthe dark night, let the home bright? Is our home! This is the light in the beacon in the night,in the community, rather than in Wenzhou,a group of the most shining.
Tell you,we are in hard working families from the unknown four generation of ancestral generations of hard work!
Say,talk to them from her grandmother's age,but also walked in their study, work, she will use, left, right Shuashua washing at home, never idle.
Morning, grandma got up early, she helped us to prepare breakfast, start doingother got a visual grandmother's every act and every move, dragged her voice is very light,as if fearful disturb my sleep.

Yeah, there are many explanations about friendship. However, friendship is a relationship that can’t be restricted(限制)by definition(定义). It can only be experienced. True friendship can exist between any two souls, be it between people or animals. It can happen at any moment, to anyone. Even to lifeless things, like a diary, a ball, a friendship can happen.
Then what is your opinion about friendship?
Do you think that friendship is important to our life? Why?
⑵Warming up by learning to solve problems
Nice to meet you, class. We shall be friends from now on. For everybody needs friends. But being a good friend can sometimes be hard work. Learning how to solve problems in a friendship can make you a better friend and a happier person. Discuss the situation below and try to solve the problems wisely.
Common problems among teenagers
Solution
Some of the common problems include forgetting friends’ birthday, not keeping promises, letting out friends’ secrets and so on.
Maybe we can have a heart-to-heart talk with our friends to ask for forgiveness.
Situation 1: Friends get angry with each other when they try to talk about something difficult.
Try to understand your friend/ Try to talk about the problem in a different way.
Situation 2: Friends don’t know how to apologize
Start by telling each other that you are sorry. A simple apology is often enough and is a good starting point.
Situation 3: Some friends don’t know how to keep secrets.
Keep your secrets to yourself
Tips on being a good friend
Treat your friends the way you want to be treated. Keep secrets that are told to you.
Pay attention when your friend is talking. Keep your promises. Share things with your friend. Tell your friend the truth. Stick up for your friend.
